We, “The South”: Hunger, Perennial Epidemic
We, "The South": Hunger, Perennial Epidemic is a project that seeks to question and illustrate narratives about hunger and scarcity, and how people who have suffered them in times of pandemic in Bogotá, have created adaptation mechanisms to that situation.
Why is it important to talk about hunger? Because it is necessary to do it, because it is time to do it, because it is still considered taboo.
"What has caught my attention as an artist is that way in which not only hunger, but also scarcity, are being appropriated, expressed, represented in Ciudad Bolívar and other sectors of Bogotá; Likewise, how hunger is perceived in some way, as part of the culture in these territories, where hunger is related to poverty and failure. Hunger is also a sensation that we all know. The difference is that for some this feeling is temporary and for others it is daily".
