Cocina Plural

RAFAEL DÍAZ

The artist Rafael Díaz was one of the artists invited to develop two of the activities at Cocina Plural during the second semester of 2022. In Máscaras de Pan (Bread Masks), starting from the mask as an object loaded with symbolism that has accompanied us from the moment we became aware of ourselves, Rafael invited us to create molds of our faces with aluminum trays, to then put on them this dough made of water, flour and yeast that, once achieved, we kneaded, stretched and molded. The experience revolved around thinking about how masks alter our bodies. For DEPANDEHUESODEPANDEHUESO the artist proposed a banquet around a body made of bread and wine. We all drank and ate from it, we toasted around a feast as a daily metaphor of food, artistic objects and their consumption.
