Telón Telón

From the floor, two soft bodies watch: a hashtag made of woven fabric and a stuffed head in the shape of a woman. They don't hang like the other pieces. They don't swing in the air, they don't occupy the center, but they are there. They are part of the floor, of the transit, of the rest. From there, they look out.

In front of them, a curtain unfolds that is not a single curtain. A large canvas composed of fabrics intervened in different ways. Some scream. Others barely whisper.

A white moon appears on an indigo background. A feline drawing that recalls an imprecise childhood. A fabric of banknotes that no longer buy anything. A blanket made of other blankets. A blurred figure among pastel squares. A printed poem that seems to breathe with the fabric: the surface dissolves, and we are left together inside a damp well. A scene unfolds like an immodest and precise choreography on a burning, almost wet, red canvas. A coral tapestry entangles itself with organic forms. A tight weave repeats loops as if weaving to remind us not to forget.

It all began with the Trama residency and with Javier, the master. With looms, knots, and hands. Then more arrived: young artists, women who know, ancestral forms, new words. From that combination, this expanded curtain was born, hanging diagonally that cuts through the air of the space like an architectural seam, tense and alive.

Sometimes it feels like a paused demonstration, a strike of images floating in space. Each canvas is a slogan, a harangue. Some flap, others fall, others wrinkle and rise again.

The hashtag and the plush head are not on the sidelines, even if no one looks at them first. From them, one also contemplates. They are a place of passage, of pause, of observation. Someone sits there, leans back, pauses. And even if they say nothing, they are there.

Telón Telón is a collective exhibition born from a partnership between Trama Residencia, Plural Nodo Cultural, and FaCrea. As part of this event, a call was made to the FaCrea community, from which five works were selected that now engage in dialogue with pieces by invited artists. In total, 23 artists comprise this textile composition.

The exhibition inhabits Plural's architecture, traversed by a diagonal that cuts the space like a seam: a structural gesture transformed into an exhibition surface. From there, large-format fabric works hang, suspended without the need for a wall. Fabrics that don't just show: they interrupt, float, and tense.

What began with looms and knots at the Trama residency expanded into embroidery, prints, writing, critical weavings, and hybrid forms. Each piece is added as part of a visual manifestation suspended in the air.

From the floor, a stuffed head in the shape of a woman and a hashtag made of woven fabric watch. They are not hanging, but they support the scene from another angle: that of pause, transition, observation.

Telón Telón is not a single work, but many. It is a journey traversed by layers, tensions, and materials that intersect across generations and geographies.
